What are the treatment types that achieve tissue remodelling ?
Our research has shown that the following treatments are the most effective means currently available of achieving tissue remodelling safely without the risk of surgery or unwanted side effects :-
1. Microdermabrasion (Mda)- a gentle but powerful skin resurfacing technique.
2. Regenerative Peel – A deep acting peel active in all layers of the skin.
3. Photo Rejuvenation – an Intense Pulsed Light Treatment (IPL) that repairs sun damage and stimulates the production of new collagen.
4. Combination Therapy combining 2 or more of the above treatment types. Combination therapy is not only capable of ectifying multiple aspects of ageing and sun damage but also provides enhanced stimulation of the tissue remodelling process.
How do I know which treatment to choose?
When you come for your initial consultation we will assess the condition of your skin and ask you what is bothering you most. From this analysis we will recommend treatments to meet your goals. For example, if you just want a thicker, firmer and softer skin a course of regenerative peels will often be enough. If it’s coarse or scarred skin that’s the problem then microdermabrasion may be the best way to give you a smooth and soft skin. Blemishes from sun damage will be tackled by Intense Pulsed Light - also known as photo-rejuvenation.
Obviously we can combine these treatment into a course tailored specifically to you and your skin. Combined therapies have the benefit of enhancing the tissue remodeling process.
Is any recovery time needed after treatments?
You should not need any recovery time and you are free to immediately resume your daily activities. In rare circumstance
(dependant on the treatment program) slight redness may be apparent for up to 24 hours following the treatment
How many treatments will I need ?
This depends a lot on what you want to achieve and the initial condition of your skin. You will normally see an immediate visual improvement and notice a softer smoother feel after just one treatment. You need 4 to 5 treatments at weekly intervals before the skin begins to thicken. Significant visible improvements to all aspects of the skin are apparent within ten treatments. We will estimate the expected number of treatments when you come for consultation.
Are there any reasons why you might not treat me?
We won’t advise you to have Microdermabrasion if you are susceptible to keloid scarring. If you suffer from broken capillaries, diabetes or eczema you should discuss this at time of consultation. If you are on medication you are advised to consult with their GP prior to consultation. If you are pregnant, suffer from epilepsy or light induced skin rashes we will not carry out IPL treatments. If you have a pacemaker, have recently had a serious medical condition, are pregnant or breast feeding, or suffer from severe asthma or epilepsy, we will not do mesotherapy treatments |
